Help/FAQOpenSeats Feedback System Overview Trading Partner Ratings provide a way for users of OpenSeats to establish their own trading reputations and check the trading reputations of other OpenSeats users. Trading reputations are important in person-to-person online commerce because they allow users to feel comfortable dealing with one another. Since OpenSeats is a local ticket exchange service, we anticipate that a large percentage of transactions between users will be consummated in person. However, since tickets can be easily mailed, we also expect that OpenSeats’ Trading Partner Ratings will help make users comfortable using the mail as a convenient means of exchanging tickets and payment. You will find that your Trading Partner Rating is a valuable asset at OpenSeats, helping you earn the trust of your trading partners and make ticket and payment exchanges more efficient. View Trading Partner Ratings When viewing the 'Details' of a ticket advertisement, below every username are two numbers in parentheses (e.g. browne (7) of (10)). The first number is a Trading Partner Rating, which represents the number of positive ratings received by that user. The second number is the total number of ratings received which include positive and negative ratings. So, in the above example, "browne" received three negative ratings. The rating allows a buyer to gauge how/whether to deal with specific sellers. For example, if a ticket seller has a high percentage of positive ratings, a buyer may feel comfortable completing the transaction by mail rather than arranging to meet in person. Similarly, ticket sellers can check the Trading Partner Ratings of potential buyers to gauge how/whether to deal with specific buyers. In this instance, a ticket seller would need to find out from the ticket buyer his/her username to view that person's Trading Partner Rating. Rating Trading Partners A Trading Partner Rating is a measure of an OpenSeats user's trading reputation. Trading Partner Ratings are calculated by: Adding 1 point (+1) for each positive rating received. A negative rating is added to the total number of ratings. Even though a single person can give feedback on the same user multiple times, he/she will be able to affect that user's Trading Partner Rating by only one point (either positively or negatively). After you conduct a transaction, please remember to give a Trading Partner Rating to the buyer or seller that you dealt with. That will help everyone in the OpenSeats.com community know what it is like to deal with that user. Changing Previous Ratings OpenSeats.com cannot remove a rating once it is submitted, nor edit a user's rating history. Similarly, users cannot retract ratings they have given to other users. However, users can leave additional ratings that have the effect of reversing an earlier rating. The most one user can affect the rating of another user is one point, either positively or negatively. Note:You are responsible for your own words. Your comments may be attributed with your name and the date. OpenSeats cannot take responsibility for the comments you post here, and you should be careful about making comments that could be libelous or slanderous. To be safe, make only factual, emotionless comments. Contact your attorney if you have any doubts. Once left, feedback cannot be retracted or edited by you or by OpenSeats. Please try to resolve any disputes with the other party before publicly declaring a complaint. |
